The Othello Tunnels were originally built in 1914. The Kettle Valley Railway operated until 1959, when it was abandoned because the line was too difficult to maintain with frequent deep snow during long winters. The rails were removed in 1962.

Today, the tunnels are part of the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park. These photographs were taken on 18 May 2019.
